The Markets are down, what should you be doing?

The S&P 500 is down 22% year to date and the tech-heavy Nasdaq is down almost 30% this year. So then the question arises, what should you be doing?

Well, the answer to that question is absolutely nothing. Yes, you read that right. Now you may think that doing that sounds absurd but if you switch your lens to the long-term perspective, then the markets are soon going to recover. Nobody knows when, but they surely will. And in addition to that, an investor always just has two options, buy or sell. You can't do anything except that

So forget about selling the stocks, especially if they are in the red (if you are a long-term investor) and if you do have additional funds, which you think you probably won't require in the next few years, then do your research, find the companies that make the most sense to you, invest and stick with them.

This is an opportunity like no other. Remember when stocks came crashing down during the 2020 Covid crash? everyone thought it was the end of the world and that it would take the markets a few years if not decades to recover from those hefty losses.

But then guess what, a few months after that, the markets were back on track, all clear to hit all-time highs. And be honest, don't you think to yourself, "I wish I would have bought Apple, Tesla, and Amazon during those market crashes" I know you do, and guess what, you have another opportunity like that in front of you right now.

So sit back, ignore the noise, invest if you can, and avoid selling right now at all costs. And do absolutely nothing.
